Working in Elkridge
A lot of Elkridge sits on grade. That means backyards that drop away, patios that need a retaining wall before they can exist, and drainage that has to be solved rather than ignored. We build segmental block and natural stone walls with drainage stone, filter fabric and perforated pipe behind every course, plus geogrid where the height requires it.
Where the grade is steeper we tier the space — a wall, a level paver landing, then steps down to a second level. It costs more than a flat patio but it turns an unusable slope into the best part of the yard.
Decks are common here for the same reason: when the ground drops six feet behind the house, a deck is the practical way to get usable outdoor space off the back door.
